About the Program

The M. Sc. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at DBS School of Pharmacy and Research is a two-year postgraduate program designed to provide in-depth knowledge in drug discovery, development, and quality control.

The program integrates advanced chemical, analytical and biotechnological approaches to equip students for careers in the pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare industries.

Curriculum

The program covers key aspects of pharmaceutical sciences through an interdisciplinary approach, including:

  • Medicinal Chemistry – Study of drug design, synthesis and mechanism of action.
  • Advanced Analytical Techniques – Advanced instrumentation in spectroscopy, chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • Drug Discovery & Development – Computational chemistry, molecular modeling and bioinformatics applications.
  • Pharmaceutical Regulatory Science – Understanding drug laws, patenting and quality control standards.
  • Natural Products & Phytochemistry – Exploring medicinal compounds from plant sources.
  • Pharmacokinetics & Drug Metabolism – Understanding drug absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion.
