DBS Global University recently hosted an enlightening session titled “From Darkness to Light: Key to Success,” inspired by the Karma Theory of the Bhagavad Gita.
The session began with a thought-provoking exploration of the Gita’s timeless message, that real success lies in performing one’s duty with sincerity, without being bound by the desire for results. Through stories and verses from the scripture, the speaker illustrated how this principle applies not only in ancient times but also in modern life and careers.
Students were deeply engaged as examples from the Gita, such as Arjuna’s moment of doubt on the battlefield and Krishna’s guidance to act with clarity and detachment, were discussed in the context of everyday choices, academic goals, and personal growth. Interactive discussions helped students see how challenges and setbacks can be opportunities for self-mastery when approached with the right attitude.
The atmosphere in the session was reflective and energising. Many students shared how the teachings made them rethink their definition of success, shifting their focus from outcomes to effort and intention.
At DBS Global University, such sessions are an integral part of our approach to holistic education, where wisdom, values, and learning come together to shape not just capable professionals but conscious and compassionate individuals.
