DBS Global University marked Advocates’ Day with an engaging session on Advocacy Skills in the Criminal Justice System. The event took place on 3rd December, 2025 and brought law students face-to-face with two respected legal professionals from the District and High Court of Uttarakhand.
The session featured Mr Joydeep Singh Uppal and Mr J.S. Bist, both known for their long experience in courtroom practice. They spoke about the real demands of advocacy, the discipline required inside a courtroom, and the importance of clear communication while presenting arguments. Students heard practical insights on case preparation, ethical responsibilities and how young advocates can build confidence during the early years of practice.
The interaction drew strong participation from learners across the School of Law. Many students asked thoughtful questions on trial strategy, client handling and the evolving role of lawyers in the justice system. Faculty members shared that sessions like this help bridge the gap between theory and the real world.
The School of Law organised the event to give students a closer look at the profession they are preparing for and to honour the spirit of Advocates’ Day. The session added another meaningful learning experience to the semester and strengthened the university’s focus on practical legal education.
